I started working as a therapist in 2008 and was delighted to take on my own premises in 2016 and have never looked back.
I became interested in abdominal-sacral massage, helping people with digestive or fertility problems and am, to date, the only practitioner in Dorset. More and more clients are presenting with chronic or acute conditions and, after discovering the Jing Institute in Brighton, I qualified in Clinical Massage using techniques in deep tissue massage, particularly helpful for such clients. I am continually training and researching new techniques and am not interested in the 'conveyor belt approach'. I prefer to have time between clients, allowing me to get to know them. I believe in taking time to listen to the reasons they have come to me and to give self-help advice after treatment.
My interest in holistic therapy goes back over 20 years. I have always appreciated the benefits of assisting the healing process through therapeutic techniques and started taking courses through the British School of Yoga as a hobby. I qualified in anatomy and physiology, relaxation massage, reflexology, Indian Head massage, hot stone massage and aromatherapy and this is when my interest in becoming a practitioner really took off. Treating family and friends was great but I wanted to do more.
